Hi all. Bit of help required please. Old router finally died got new one connected wireless up ok but even when I click on anything to do with Ren or even Westwood I get disconnected from the net. Before I waste hours of time talking to a small guy called " Brian" from Calcutta pretending to be a European whizz kid is there a simple procedure I can undertake to get it sorted. I have mailed the help desk at belkin routers and tiscali but they are talking bollocks, very technical bollocks at that. Please help, as soon as I get back on your kill ratios will rocket up again. Thanks in advance. Joe

did it do this out of the box? or did it work at any point? Im afraid im not familiar with Belkin routers. I use Linksys routers.
I have seen the belkin and the rate them as "good" When getting a router i've always learned it's always best to spend up on these little guys to make sure your bandwidth is not getting choked.
My suggestion is.... Unplug the power from your cable modem and reset it. Go into the configuration of the router and set everything to default.
test from there.

Our family uses Belkin for our wireless, and it seems to run a whole lot smoother than the one we used before. It doesn't continually disconnect and reconnect.

Thanks for the advice. In the end I had to get the IT manager from where I work to come around and sort it out. It was a problem with Vista and the new router, apparently vista is dieing a death, slowly. Also I had created one or two problems. as another IT guy at work said the worst thing you can do with a computer problem is to keep trying to fix it when you really don't have a clue what you are doing!. Or another saying when in a hole stop digging. Anyway I am back on !
