It has come to my attention that language policy is being distroted day after day and is getting to the point where unless tidious little things are SAID IN STONE people will have something to complain about and generally complain/fight with mods.
I personally belive while yes language should be kept civil; rules in this area need to be laid back, or have some slack. I also belive the language guidelines need to be in the PG-13 rating, which is the same as the game rating. While yes people saying little kids play this game, it is rated for some what a mature audience; hence their may be some offensive language in game. There is also the ingame offensive language filter which automatically censors most offensive words
As for the server rules, here are some amendments/clarifications: (for NEW MAPS, GSA may or may not be subject to this depending on clan)
Any words such as these (or similair, they are probably a thousand curse words out there...):
1, ASS
2, SH*T
3, d**n
4, words , slurs for private organs (e.g. thingy, girl thingy e.t.c)
5, DUMB*SS
6, beatch
7, f**k
If said in game will constitute as a warning from the moderator in game (the number of warnings depends entirely on the moderator in game, but at least 1 will be given). Yes these words are not appropriate, but some times frustration gets the best of us. Repeated use of these words will result in a KICK from the moderator in game.
90% of the complaints of the language policy are that "I was in a tank and got kicked for saying dumbass!" the other team got our tank bla bla.... Basically here the kick not only punishes the individual, but the entire team. I don't' think that this is a justified punishment for the team.
Racial Slurs:
I generally don't' belive these types of words have any place on the server and should result in an immediate !KICK. NO warnings will be issued. Repeated use of these types verbal attacks will result in a ban.
e.g. of Racial Slurs:
N*GGER,
Chink,
Paki,
Cr*cker,
Gouk,
e.t.c.
It is important to make sure the words are being used in an offensive context. EG: I like eating crackers is not an offensive sentence. However, it will be generally clear what the motive behind the sentence is once it is broadcasted via chat.
This language policy goes into effect Immediatly on NEW MAPS starting Novermber 16th 2005.
